Yellow Seeds was a bilingual Chinese-English community newspaper published from 1972-1977, by a radical student organization of the same name. Based in Philadelphia’s Chinatown, the purpose of the newspaper was to “inform the Asian Americans in Chinatown, in the suburbs, and on the campuses of the prevailing problems and conditions immediately confronting them.” Their slogan, “Same Struggle, Same Fight,” expressed the link Yellow Seeds members saw between the Save Chinatown movement and the social justice struggles of African-Americans, Latinos, and other “minority and working people.”
