The intersection of 12th Ave S & S Jackson St is often seen as the entrance into Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood, where thousands of shoppers, visitors, and commuters pass through daily. Four blue and white community crosswalks mark the bustling crossroads with lotuses and turtles, a visual celebration of Little Saigon and Vietnamese diaspora, culture, and history. The process in creating these crosswalks brought together a committee of Little Saigon leaders, small business owners, and stakeholders, who worked together to guide community engagement and select a local Vietnamese American artist for the design of the project. This project was organized by SCIDpda and the Friends of Little Saigon.
