Tuesday Night Café

Performance as Safe Haven

Tuesday Night Project

Los Angeles, CA

Tuesday Night Café (TNC) launched in 1999 and is both the longest-running free art series in Downtown LA and the oldest Asian American open mic series in the country. Held in the Aratani Courtyard of Little Tokyo’s Union Center for the Arts, this space continues to host up to 250 people every 1st and 3rd Tuesday April through October. TNC is a showcase of the incredible and diverse talent in the Asian American community – from multidisciplinary visual arts to performing arts of all kinds. All of this is made possible thanks to Tuesday Night Project, an Asian American grassroots and volunteer-based organization devoted to providing AANHPI, Little Tokyo and greater LA communities with diverse and dynamic public art and culture programs in safe community spaces where people can connect through creative expression and social engagement.
